Things are going to take a mysterious turn toward the end of April when a new character turns up on the canvas. Our sister site, Deadline, has learned exclusively that Clint Howard (pictured below on the left), brother to Ron Howard, has been cast on The Bold and the Beautiful as Tom, a homeless man, who will be able to shed light on a mystery when he turns over crucial information.

The actor arrived at the CBS Studios today, Monday, March 18, to begin taping scenes and fans can look for him to appear on Friday, April 26, as well as on Monday, April 29. Explaining how the gig came about, Howard told People, “There was this homeless guy that the team over The Bold and The Beautiful has invented. They looked at me [with my shaggy hair] and they said, ‘homeless guy.’”

So, what storyline will Tom fit into? Though those details are being kept hush-hush, the smart money is on him helping Deacon and Finn figure out what really happened to Sheila.

Every since Steffy stabbed and killed her tormentor, fans have speculated that she wasn’t really dead. Now that Deacon has eyeballed her toes — all 10 of them — he knows that the deceased wasn’t his nine-toed fiancée.

Tom could be the key to finding Sheila very much alive and well — that is, if she isn’t being held against her will by [Spoiler].

No matter what drama Howard’s character will be dragged into, it’ll be very cool to have the showbiz legend guest-starring in daytime. He even hinted to People that his first appearances as Tom may not be his last.
