Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that we can think of one way for John Black (Drake Hogestyn) to completely turn things around in his current storyline. John is feeling like a villain over what he supposedly did back when he was “The Pawn,” but maybe a shocking revelation could turn him into the hero of this story instead.

For starters, we have to remember a few crucial facts about what happened in Aria.

Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) sent Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) there with “The Pawn” as his handler, but nobody was supposed to lose his or her life that day.

That trip was only about sending Konstantin Meleounis (John Kapelos) a message and roughing him up. Konstantin’s daughter, Catharina (Ellie Patrikios), was never supposed to get dragged into it at all.

That brings us to another interesting point since the characters keep acting like Catharina was a young girl, but she clearly wasn’t a child.

Based on the photo Days keeps showing and the casting of 29-year-old Ellie Patrikios, Catharina was a young woman – perhaps one who wanted to be free from her father’s controlling grasp.

Konstantin can wax poetic about his beloved daughter all he wants, but that doesn’t make him a good guy.

What if Konstantin was actually a pretty terrible dad – one Catharina wanted to get away from?

Of course, young love could’ve been a factor as well. What if Catharina fell for a guy that Konstantin disapproved of or someone from a rival family?

Maybe Konstantin still treated Catharina like a little girl and refused to entertain the idea of her dating at all.

We bring all these possibilities into play to suggest that perhaps Catharina didn’t lose her life that day after all.

Could it have been an elaborate ruse to fake Catharina’s demise and convince Konstantin that she was gone for good?

It’d be cruel if Catharina willingly duped Konstantin into thinking she perished in such a gruesome way, but stranger things have happened on Days.

That said, there’s also a possibility that Catharina was kidnapped while a doppelganger was left behind for Konstantin to find.

One way or another, DOOL writers have left plenty of wiggle room for Catharina to actually have survived.

Who better to find her than John since he’s a private investigator who’ll soon be committed to clearing his name?

In the coming weeks, Days spoilers say John will indeed take a trip to Greece and eventually hope to prove he’s not as guilty as he seems to be.
