Life has turned exceptionally hard for Chanel and Johnny on Days of Our Lives. Their history hasn’t been devoid of upheavals but with them getting back together, it surely started to look like a happily ever after was knocking at their door. Unfortunately, happiness never lasts for too long on soap operas without trouble striking in!

That’s exactly what happened to Chanel and Johnny with their complicated pregnancy. Even though the two decided to keep their baby, life had other plans and Chanel sadly miscarried. Not only did this alter their family’s growth, but also pushed the brakes on Johnny’s professional growth.

Previously, Johnny had accepted a job offer in Los Angeles to work with his favorite director. However, after the unfortunate baby loss, he gave up the plan. Johnny and Chanel will now be staying back in Salem. While this has come as a welcome relief to fans, it has also come as a huge relief to Johnny’s portrayer Carson Boatman.

The Days of Our Lives star recently opened up to Soap Opera Digest that the LA move had given him an exit scare. Carson revealed that when he first found out about the story development he feared that his character would eventually be written off. But thankfully, that didn’t happen.

As it turns out, the LA move was never supposed to happen but was just a part of Johnny and Chanel’s bigger storyline. “Yeah, I’m happy to be staying in Salem. It means I get to keep having my job. I did have a bit of a panic attack when I first read Johnny and Chanel were moving to California in the script, Carson admitted in his interview.

However, soon after reading the script, DOOL Co-Executive Producer Janet Spellman-Drucker told him and Raven that they wouldn’t be moving and the storyline would end in them eventually deciding to stay back in Salem. Well, that was enough to bring peace of mind to Carson. But will there be any peace for his character Johnny?

DOOL spoilers tease that there are some more troubles coming up next for Johnny and Chanel as they try to deal with their massive loss.
